Euroa Residence

EUROA

Set within a bushfire-prone landscape in regional Victoria, this project is a thoughtful response to both its natural surroundings and environmental challenges. The home is embedded seamlessly into the terrain, utilising robust and compact materials that are not only resilient to rural conditions and bushfire threats but also visually sympathetic to the surrounding canopy of native trees.

Their brief was modest yet meaningful: to create a warm and functional home that distilled living down to the essentials, refined through carefully curated spaces and a sense of crafted simplicity. At the heart of the home, visually expressive joinery anchors the interiors, offering both practical storage and moments of tactile beauty.

Strategically placed water tanks collect and store rainwater, enabling the home to operate with minimal reliance on external water sources. An off-grid solar energy system powers the residence, offering a renewable, low-impact solution that reduces both operational costs and the household’s carbon footprint.
